Lawrence Wright is the opposite of the "microwave columnist," he's in his fifties but still out in the field trying to rub two sticks together. As far as I'm concerned, there is no better American reporter on the Arab world. And if you've never read anything by Lawrence Wright, get his book on Al-Qaeda in the lead up to 9/11. Otherwise, you don't know what you're missing.

The article is definitely worth the read.
Radical Islam is disturbing in its apparent disregard for human life whether the bomber, fellow muslims, innocent bystanders, women, children.
Dr Fadi's comments:
".. 'There is no such thing in Islam as ends justifying the means.' Family members must be provided for. 'There are those who strike and then escape, leaving their families, dependants and other Muslims to suffer the consequences,' Fadl points out. 'This is in no way religion or jihad. It is not manliness.' Finally, the enemy should be properly identified in order to prevent harm to innocents. 'Those who have not followed these principles have committed the gravest of sins,' Fadl writes...".
This is no less than a call for a return to honour in battle and one hopes that it will be heeded.
